The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board has been created to meet a need in local workforce planning. The board has been in existence since June 2009.
The Board's mandate is to plan, facilitate and advocate for local workforce development, defined as the development, retention, and recruitment of a wide range of skilled workers to meet the current and future economic and social development needs of Chatham-Kent. The Board wants to identify where the jobs of the future will be coming from and ensure the Chatham-Kent workforce will meet these demands and act as a catalyst in attracting new industries and businesses to the region.
The Board Members are community leaders with a strategic outlook on the Municipality of Chatham-Kent as a whole in addition to ties to key sectors in business, labour, health, social welfare, newcomers and education. Visit the Meet the Board page to learn more.
